The 2nd ICHSPD will focus on the efforts and practices of individuals and organizations on managing wicked problems and global risks towards achieving sustainable and resilient human settlements. With the complex problems faced by the world today – disasters, rapid urbanization, international conflict and urban governance issues among others, the conference shall provide a venue for actors to collaborate, form partnerships and respond to global risks most felt in cities and communities.

Conference sub themes include:

• Creating safe and secure human settlements amid global turmoil
• Building inclusive communities in challenging times
• Overcoming vulnerabilities for resilient communities and ecosystems
• Advancing efforts and innovative solutions towards a sustainable future
